Inspiration starts at the front doorstep. Leaf shapes from small weeds in the gravel driveway get me going. Next on the bank come plants that twist and turn and point. A few steps more and the flower garden bursts into colour. It is not just inspiration that these things bring but also a delight and appreciation of the well being that nature gives us.
Plants have been a large part of my paintings these last few years. I have also enjoyed making and experimenting with natural inks, along with more abstract paintings trying to convey the ‘energy’ that comes from being in wide open spaces. I am hoping that Spoonbill pictures will also be in the mix - such comical looking birds but very graceful in flight.
